Rails-doc / APIdock
2008
In the summer of 2008 I worked at Nodeta in their first Summer of Rails project. As a user interface designer, I designed most of the graphics and visual elements for the site. During the project, I learned a lot about Rails and Javascript but also techniques familiar to me such as CSS and (X)HTML.
Rails-doc.org (screenshots: front page, documentation) was the first stage of our project and was created to make Ruby on Rails documentation more accessible. Later we added support for multiple projects and the website was changed to APIdock.com. Check out the Nodeta blog for updates and information on Nodeta's current and future projects.
Avant Style hair salon
2007
I got to make a complete website redesign for Avant Style hair salon / barber shop, including photos of the staff. The basic idea was to have a simple and easy-to-use website with a modern look. www.parturikampaamo.com
Ex-homepage
2006
My old homepage was in fact the first website I made completely myself (including html/css code). In August 2007 I redesigned my website according to the 100% easy-2-read standard. Most of the old content can be found unchanged on the new website.
Manhattan Story Mashup
2006
My big brother, Ville Tuulos took part in designing this urban game, which consisted of players in Manhattan and people using the website (some photos from the event). I designed most of the visuals, including the logo and a t-shirt. www.storymashup.org
SensorPlanet
2006
SensorPlanet is a Nokia-initiated cooperation on large-scale wireless sensor networks. They needed a simple but stylish look for their website, so this time I got to do something really modern and '2006'. www.sensorplanet.org
Gurusoft & Docunaut
2005
Gurusoft is a Finnish company which creates visual search solutions for large databases. The idea for this design was to visualize the connections formed between the separate data bits. The same simple design can be extended to many different applications. www.gurusoft.fi
Hoowwwer
2004
This is really an illustration rather than a complete website design. Hoowwwer is a web crawler downloading countless websites from the internet, so what would be more appropriate than a common hoover with a RJ-45 hose. http://cosco.hiit.fi/search/hoowwwer/
Aino
2004
Finnland.fi
2002
This website is targeted for German tourists seeking information about traveling in Finland. The whole site was designed to be really lightweight, so there are only a few images. www.finnland.fi
