I photographed and registered over 60 choir members for this project. The group photo is also taken by me in a church in Oulu. This was the first time I got to try the job of a professional photographer, i.e. not taking photos just for fun.

This is a programme leaflet for a traditional school dance we have at Finland. Two students from my school volunteered to dress up to be photographed.

Here's a nightly view from a park called Ainola in Oulu. The night was unusually cold (about minus 30 degrees celsius) and all the trees were covered in a beautiful frost.

The greenhouse reflected the lights like metal when viewed from a low angle. This photo session was particularly educational for me because I noticed how vivid and colorful even the darkest winter nights can be.

One of my favourite thing in arts is to try different techniques together. I printed out several photographs of lime slices on transparencies and stacked them between glass squares. This way I ended up with a home-made 3D photograph with a little depth.

This photo is taken in Suomenlinna, an old fort off the coast of Helsinki. The man in the picture is my big brother and I'm in the left corner waving a flaslight towards him. We tried to create interesting lighting patterns using only one light source combined with a long shutter time.

While I was taking photos one autumn day, the floodgates of the dam opened. It doesn't happen so often in Oulu because most of the time the water goes through a hydro plant nearby. I happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right equipment.

This photo is original, it hasn't been edited in any way. I was cycling through a small forest when I came to a small river going under the road. Instead of a bridge, there was a rectangular hole in the river just before the road leading the water through a pipe to the other side.

These are the same trees you can see in my 'Nighttime trees' photo (see above). Again, the long shutter time used creates an interesting effect in the waving branches while the tree trunk stays in place.
